Aurora borealis was visible to the naked eye in 2024 and 2025 all across Colorado. That doesn’t happen very often, and for it to occur two years in a row was truly a treat. This photo was taken on Boreas Pass Road in Breckenridge, CO. I was able to capture the northern lights along with the lights from a passing bus. With perfect timing and a lot of patience, one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken came to life: Lights on the Road.
